Data Conversion

EAG offers data conversion services to clients who are replacing an existing system, whether that system was developed in-house or purchased from a third-party vendor. We have extensive experience with a wide range of platforms and languages, from legacy systems to small, PC-based databases.

A typical data conversion involves the following steps:

  • Determine where data is currently stored (e.g. legacy system, third party vendor, Microsoft Access).
  • Prepare data migration document, which maps the fields in the existing system to fields in CaseTrack.
  • Discuss and resolve any data migration issues.
  • Obtain the data in a standard format (e.g., Microsoft Access, BCP files).
  • Create and test data migration scripts.
  • Migrate data into the CaseTrack database.
  • Review the data through the CaseTrack application.
  • Test migration for accuracy and completeness.
